Creating Mandalas

The word mandala itself simply means "circle" in Sanskrit. Or more deeply sacred cosmogram. Definitions of mandala : any of various geometric designs (usually circular) symbolizing the universe; used chiefly in Hinduism and Buddhism as an aid to meditation. type of: design, figure, pattern. a decorative or artistic work. There are many ways to create a mandala. One can simply start with a circle, which acts as a container for expression, and doodle whatever comes to mind. Or, one could use the Jungian approach by dividing into quadrants as means to self discovery. Or one can create a medicine wheel so-to-speak of objects to create a sacred space.
